After a very cool and very wet May here in N.Ireland (where I was mostly cooking indoors for events) I am now very happy to say it is June! The weather has to warm up soon and Strawberry Jam season is now upon us. I have a small amount of Strawberry plants at home, both in the greenhouse and outdoors but not enough to produce the amount of strawberries needed for Strawberry Jam making. Every year I resist the temptations of winter shop bought strawberries and wait for the strawberry farm very near home to have its fresh crop ready. The lovely lady farmer has to separate out all the funny shaped fruits the shops will not take and I buy those each summer directly from the farm for jam making.
